I ask that my colleagues support me by electing me to one of the positions as Director for District 11. I feel that I can bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the Board of Directors of the OMA, and I would strive to make the process within the OMA more transparent and responsive to the needs and wishes of the members, as well as to increase the communications to the membership. 

There are several major issues presently affecting our colleagues: the Medical Review Committee (MRC) process, the failure of the RBRVS Commission, and earning caps, to name but a few.

I feel that the present schedule of fees does not recognize the true value of our professional services, and that several sections are economically disadvantaged. However, the correction of this inequity cannot be addressed in a model of revenue neutrality. The health care budget must have an infusion of significant extra funds.

We, as the OMA, must strive to protect our members who have been inappropriately targeted by the MRC process, and must insist that due process be provided to these colleagues. We must insure that all aspects of appropriate appeals be available before any demand for repayment is requested, if in fact any repayment is justified. In addition, the Schedule of Benefits must be modernized, so that we may avoid these fishing expeditions by the MRC process.
