COALITION OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS OF ONTARIO TO RELEASE REFERENDUM RESULTS

( February 17, 2004 , Toronto , Ontario ) – Dr. Douglas Mark, President of the Coalition of Family Physicians of Ontario, will be holding a media conference on Wednesday, February 18, 2004 to release the results of a referendum that was recently sent to all family physicians practicing in Ontario . In addition to asking questions about the Medical Review Committee, Family Health Groups and what family doctors hope to see coming out of the current Ontario Medical Association-Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care negotiations, the referendum also asked if the Coalition should move ahead and seek provincial legislative changes so that Ontario family physicians can have the right to choose their bargaining agent to represent and negotiate for them. Joining Dr. Mark at the media conference will be Coalition Vice President Dr. Chris Pinto.
