To
all Ontario Family Physicians:
March 7, 2005.
The
New OMA-MOHLTC Offer
We
Are Very Concerned
The Coalition of Family Physicians of Ontario is carefully
reviewing the new OMA-MOHLTC offer. It is a complex
contract that amends portions of the original 114-page September
2004 deal resoundingly rejected by Ontario's doctors.
The new deal should be available on the OMA website now.
You must have both the original 2004 fall deal and this new
2005 amendment deal to fully analyse all of the implications.
We will soon post both on our website.
We are in the midst of analyzing its complexities and have
concerns about its ability to support the future of family
practice. We will send to you our official report within
the next ten days. We would appreciate your initial
thoughts below.
In the meantime, we encourage continued discussions with your
patients about the family doctor crisis and provide them with
our patient pamphlets for those of you who are COFP members.
Members who have not received the pamphlets should contact
our office at (416) 412-1474 or info@cofp.com.
Your continued support enables us to provide to you our services
supported by a variety of professional consultants.
Our 2005 Membership Campaign continues and our annual mail-out
will be sent shortly. We encourage all members already
contacted by phone and fax to submit 2005 membership dues
immediately.
Yours sincerely,
Douglas Mark MD, President
and the Board of the Coalition of Family Physicians of Ontario
